5,672 books cataloged at Library Thing, excluding "transients" (frequently reissued textbooks, novels I don't plan to keep, etc.). The final count is a little off, since fifty-odd novels issued in various sets have been magically compressed to, um, three. Still, a decent number. Of course, as Mom the Retired School Administrator observed, "a library is a living thing," and so, like living things, my library will continue to grow...
Hurrah! Congratulations... Mine is so far pitiful, destined to never bear much relation to the dusty and dispersed material thing. But also never4 to compare to your incredible mass! Btw, you're my #1 "similar library" which is, er, good I guess.

I am totally humbled by your library! Mine is pretty insignificant in comparision.
