Actually, a candidate bursting into song might be interesting

Inside Higher Ed points us to 9 Interviews, which features nine...unique...takes on the MLA interview process.  Most of the short films aren't really parodies of recognizable types--or, at least, not types I can recognize--with the exceptions of the "Canadian Phonologist" (the monotone delivery), the "Trauma Scholar" (it's all about me!) and perhaps the "Irish Rave Ethnographer" (the alternative pedagogy).  The barrage of interview questions at the end is pretty dead-on; be sure to stay put for the final grammar examination.
