Why proofreading is important, item #1391

A note to editors of teaching anthologies: it is exceptionally difficult to do a scansion exercise with one's students when you, the editors, have left a word out of the poem.   Because, you know, that extra syllable really does make a big difference.  I'm all for introducing my students to anapests, but only when they're actually in the poem.
