1. I'm currently asking myself why I had my students turn in all these papers at the end of the semester, which is another way of saying "I'm grading." Ergo, my poor blog is currently without posts. But I hope to be back soon with an essay on Harriet Mozley.
2. On a totally unrelated note, I wonder if the lag time (twelve hours or more) between airing a show on broadcast TV and releasing it to iTunes, Hulu, etc. actually decreases the online viewership. After all, the lag gives audiences the chance to read reviews; if you're not particularly invested in, say, House, you can keep up with the storyline on Television Without Pity until an episode (re)ignites your interest.
Oh, but House (which I'm just about to watch on Hulu, as I do every Sunday night), isn't about the story line, which is inane. It isn't about the medical mystery either, which is always wildly improbable and has become less and less clever as the years go by. It's about watching the glorious expressions on the face of Hugh Laurie, and in between being distracted by the inhumanly beautiful supporting cast.
