My mother recently acquired this second photograph of my ggg-grandfather, Lewi Isaac Finkelstein, and his second wife:
And here's my gg-grandfather Gershon Baum (in military uniform) with his first wife, Frances, and their children. Gershon's second wife was my gg-grandmother Chaia Esther Finkelstein (Lewi's daughter), the woman in my sidebar.
The first photo appears to have been taken by a famous political activist/photographer:

I adore the background (the sun! or is the moon?) and props in the first photo. There must be some literature on the transparent fakitude of such things.

Actually, the circle on the first photo is neither a sun nor a moon.
Some careless person just happened to drip something on the picture.
