I see there's a film in the offing too: Ralph Fiennes as Magwitch, Helena Bonham-Carter as Miss Havisham.

I've always thought that if Dickens had been born in (say) 1912 instead of 1812, he would have been a screenwriter. But I can't think of many good films of his works.
