The BBC has The Mystery of Edwin Drood on the agenda. Their press release doesn't explain how they're going to handle the ending, or lack thereof. (Then again, how often can you surprise viewers with the outcome of a Dickens adaptation?)

There was an excellent Soviet TV play, where they handled the ending exceptionally well.

I thought the release stated rather clearly that the screenwriter is going to write the ending: 'Writer, Gwyneth Hughes, says: "Who could resist the challenge of inventing an ending for Charles Dickens' unfinished last work? '
