You really shouldn't have taught him to read.


Maybe you should have named him after Gladstone.

Two books to the left in your photo is a volume called "Disraeli's Reminiscences," which I also own. I like what he says on p. 104: "The History of the Jews is developement or it is nothing. If ever a history were a history of developement, it is that of the Jews."

I mention this because I wondered, two days ago, why you didn't include Disraeli in your list of Jewish novelists in 19C England.
